The Brief

SafeSite Facilities was appointed to secure a vacant warehouse chemical storage site in Margate that required urgent protection against unauthorised pedestrian and vehicle access. Due to the hazardous materials previously stored on site, it was critical that the perimeter and all access points were made fully secure and tamper resistant.

The client required a robust, long-term security solution to prevent trespass, vandalism and potential safety risks to the public.

The Solution

Our Vacant Property Solutions team carried out a full site assessment before designing a comprehensive security package to eliminate all unauthorised access routes.

The works included:

• Securing all entry points around the warehouse and site perimeter
• Installing steel sheeting to the existing palisade fencing to remove visibility and prevent climb-through access
• Fitting anti-climb spinners above the gates and fencing line to deter scaling attempts
• Installing new anti-climb fencing to the side of the building to prevent further access to vulnerable areas of the site

This combined approach ensured the site was fully enclosed, visually secure, and highly resistant to both opportunistic and determined intruders.

The Installation

The installation was carried out by our experienced Site Operatives, Kieran and Sam, under the coordination of Account Manager Paul. The team worked efficiently to complete the project safely and to a high standard, ensuring minimal disruption while delivering a fully secure perimeter solution.

Particular attention was given to the areas surrounding the building where hazardous materials had previously been stored, ensuring no remaining access points were left unprotected.

The Result

The warehouse site is now fully secured against unauthorised pedestrian and vehicle access, significantly reducing the risk of trespass, vandalism and potential safety incidents. The combination of steel sheeting, anti-climb systems and new fencing provides a strong, visible deterrent and long-term protection for the property.
