Steel road plates seal off dangerous holes and excavations to keep your site, personnel and vehicles safe. They are heavy duty and suitable for vehicle access and can be supplied plain or with an anti-skid coating and are available in a number of colour finishes.

A common use of steel road plates is during roadworks, as they allow busy roads to be temporarily returned to use during peak times.

SafeSite’s steel road plates are available in three standard sizes: 1220mm x 1220mm (4ft x 4ft), 1830mm x 1220mm (6ft x 4ft), and 2440 mm x 1220mm (8ft x 4ft). Weights start from approximately 300kg. Standard road plates have a thickness of either ½ inch or ¾ inch.

Additional sizes, fully customisable, are also available.

Installation

Steel road plates are heavy so need to be moved into place with the mechanical assistance of a forklift or crane. Each plate unit has a hole in each corner which makes it easier to lift as well as anchorage points for securing the units across a range of trench types including rectangular openings, linear trenches and transverse trenches.
