Secure Bollard Site Protection Installation in Berkshire

Project Overview

A golf course in Maidenhead, Berkshire required enhanced perimeter security to prevent unauthorised vehicular access while still allowing controlled entry for authorised vehicles. The solution involved installing robust heavy duty steel bollards, strategically positioned to physically restrict vehicle access and create a secure entrance point.

 

The Challenge

The client’s site had an open vehicle access point that was vulnerable to unauthorised entry. They needed a durable security solution that would:

• Prevent vehicles from driving onto the site without permission
• Allow controlled authorised access when required
• Provide a long-term, low-maintenance security measure

The solution had to be robust, reliable and suitable for an outdoor environment subject to daily use.

 

The Solution

To meet the client’s requirements, our team installed a combination of fixed and removable bollards:

• 2 x In-Ground Keyed Telescopic Bollards
  These bollards can be lowered to allow authorised vehicles to enter and raised to secure the site. The key mechanism ensures only authorised personnel can operate the posts.
• 3 x Heavy Duty In-Ground Steel Bollards
  Permanently fixed into the ground around the entrance to block unauthorised vehicle access.

All bollards were installed so that 900 mm of steel stands above ground level, offering a strong visual deterrent as well as a physical barrier.

 

Installation Details

• Preparation: Excavation of precise locations for in-ground fixings, with spacing calculated to prevent vehicle access but allow pedestrian movement where necessary.
• Placement: Telescopic bollards positioned at the main access point for controlled entry; fixed steel bollards placed alongside to form a secure perimeter.
• Finishing: All bollards installed flush and to the correct alignment, finished with corrosion-resistant coatings to withstand the elements.
