Block Supported Timber Hoarding Installation in Berkshire

Secure, low-visibility construction hoarding delivered to a strict project deadline

When a new-build project requires secure site boundaries, the hoarding needs to do more than simply define the perimeter. It needs to provide robust protection, maintain site security, meet the visual requirements of the project and be installed professionally without disrupting the finished site.

For a new-build project in Berkshire, SafeSite Facilities was appointed to supply and install block supported timber hoarding, with additional security measures and a bespoke vehicle access solution.

Working to a strict installation deadline, our team delivered the project within the required timeframe while taking particular care to protect the newly finished concrete surface throughout the installation.

The challenge

The project required a secure and professional-looking construction hoarding solution around a new-build development.

The key requirements were to:

  • Supply and install robust block supported timber hoarding
  • Provide additional protection against unauthorised access
  • Minimise visibility into the site from outside the hoarding
  • Create a secure vehicle access gate
  • Finish the gate in the project’s specified colours
  • Complete the installation within a strict timeframe
  • Avoid damage, marking or paint residue on the newly finished concrete floor

With the project working to a tight programme, the installation also needed to be carefully planned and executed to avoid unnecessary disruption.

The solution

SafeSite Facilities supplied and installed block supported timber hoarding to create a secure perimeter around the development.

Block supported hoarding provides a practical solution for construction and development sites where a robust, freestanding temporary perimeter is required without relying on extensive ground penetration.

To further enhance the security of the perimeter, anti-climb spikes were fitted to the top of the timber hoarding. This provided an additional physical deterrent and helped strengthen the overall site-security strategy.

Reducing visibility into the construction site

The project also required minimal visibility through the vehicle access point.

To achieve this, the vehicle gate was clad with 9mm plywood, creating a solid barrier that restricted visibility into the site when the gate was closed.

The gate was then painted in the project’s specified colours, providing a more professional and cohesive appearance while maintaining the required level of privacy and security.

This combination of practical site protection and attention to presentation demonstrates how construction hoarding can be adapted to meet both security and aesthetic requirements.

Careful installation on a finished concrete surface

One of the key challenges was the condition of the site itself.

The concrete floor had already been completed, meaning the installation team needed to take additional care to prevent damage to the finished surface.

Particular attention was given to the installation process to ensure the concrete remained protected and that no unwanted paint residue was left behind.

This level of care is an important part of professional construction hoarding installation. A successful installation is not simply about getting the hoarding in place. It is about understanding the wider site environment and delivering the work without creating additional remedial work for the project team.

Delivered within a demanding timeframe

The project was operating to a strict deadline, but SafeSite Facilities was able to supply and install the timber hoarding within the required timeframe.

Our ability to coordinate the supply, preparation and installation of the hoarding provided the project team with a secure perimeter when it was needed, helping the wider construction programme continue without unnecessary delay.

Alongside the hoarding installation, wider site-security measures included CCTV provision, helping to create a more comprehensive approach to protecting the development.

The result

The completed installation provided the new-build project with a secure, professional perimeter designed around its specific requirements.

The finished solution combined:
