Road Plates

Used to seal off excavations and allow safe traffic and pedestrian flow through work areas, steel road plate units are available in standard size of 2.4 m x 1.2 m, with a choice of ½” or ¾” depth. Additional sizes, fully customisable subject to requirements, are also available. Weights start from approx 300kg

SafeSite Facilities Road Plates can also be delivered with standard finish or with an anti-skid finish for maximising safety – ideal for wet or muddy conditions.

Each plate unit has a hole in each corner which makes it easier to lift as well as anchorage points for securing as required across a range of trench types, including:

  • Rectangular openings
  • Linear trenches
  • Transverse trenches

Safety and compliance

Manufactured to safely withstand even extreme loads (including plant vehicles), SafeSite Facilities Steel Road Plates are fully compliant with the Safety at Street Works and Road Works Act. Used correctly, these trench covers can effectively seal off dangerous excavations to keep sites, personnel and vehicles safe.

Loading capacity will vary depending on site conditions, if exact load bearing calculations are required we recommend contacting your structural engineer who can advise based on the specific site conditions.
