SafeSite Coronavirus Policy Statement

The coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis is continuously evolving, and we endeavour to respond swiftly to any changes and government guidelines. We will continue to develop our approach and keep our stakeholders updated.

We support the UK Government’s position to allow the construction and infrastructure industry to continue operating where it can do so safely, and we are remaining open.

We have changed our operating practices to protect our staff and customers during this time:

Delivery Orders to Customers

Our Drivers will no longer require signatures from our customer on delivery, and instead will be utilising a photographic Proof of Delivery system. We will be operating a 2m distance between both our drivers and our customers at all times.

Incoming Deliveries Orders to our Offices, Warehouses and Sites

Goods will not be handed directly and will be placed in a designated location whilst deliverer and receiver maintain 2m distance. Documentation will be issued electronically where possible.

Employees

Our office employees are currently working from home, providing over the phone and website support to customers. Measures are currently being implemented to provide a safe environment in the offices when the decision to return is taken.

Our site and warehouse operatives are implementing the latest Site Operating Procedures (SOP) issued on 14 April 2020 by the Construction Leadership Council, and endorsed by Public Health England, to ensure the continued health, safety and wellbeing of all those who work with and for us.

Where projects and contracts are temporarily closed or schemes paused as a direct result of COVID-19, we have adopted the UK Government’s Job Retention Scheme – Furlough. This approach is reviewed on an ongoing basis.

As a key supplier of goods and services to the construction industry and general public, we remain focused on ensuring that we can continue to contribute to support the UK economy, now and when normal conditions return.
