Quality & Stock Control Manager

Warwick, Warwickshire

Accountable to: Warehouse Manager

Salary: £32,000  – £36,000 per annum

Location: Warwick Distribution Yard

 

The Role

The Quality and Stock Control Manager is responsible for monitoring, organising, and checking the yard and warehouse stock and supply levels, liaising with the company Buyer to order new stock as needed, and carrying out quality control of equipment on all external and internal deliveries and collections.

Be familiar with and demonstrate a commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety & Environmental Policies. Ensure that all relevant information contained within these policies is communicated to staff and sub-contractors prior to working on site.

 

Key responsibilities

The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time in order to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

  • Inspect and monitor daily stock levels and any discrepancies with the inventory database
  • Work closely with the sales, operations and transport departments to organise the efficient flow of stock
  • Anticipate and pre-empt any large changes in stock movement
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure stock is delivered on time either into or out of the yard and warehouse
  • Quality check incoming and outgoing stock, including occasional travel to work sites to carry out quality checks
  • Operate forklift as necessary
  • Allocate resources effectively
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members including daily duties
  • Ensure that all operational procedures are followed to ensure the safety of employees and visitors to the site
  • Conduct training sessions in new procedures or policies and safety practices to ensure all staff are familiar with any changes
  • Accurately monitor stock levels
  • Analyse current methods of work and advise management on strategies to improve procedures, streamline time management and reduce costs.

 

Role Demands

The role requires the post holder to be able to lift and carry equipment following Health & Safety procedure. The role requires working antisocial hours on occasions.

 

Level of Knowledge & Experience

  • Sound experience of working in a yard and managing stock, preferably in a supervisor or team leader role
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and the requirements in a warehouse and yard environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of inventory management software
  • Forklift operator trained
  • First Aid Trained (desirable but not required)
