National Field Sales Representative

Accountable to: Sales Team Leader

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum

Location: Nationwide

 

Job Purpose

To contribute to the general smooth running of the sales department and the company, by providing field sales support to senior sales staff. To provide excellent customer service and contribute to generating sales, whilst helping to manage existing client accounts.

 

Principle Duties & Accountabilities

The specific accountabilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time in order to meet the needs of the company, but accountabilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

  • Supporting the team leader and head office-based, inbound sales team, looking after a portfolio of customers on behalf of some of the biggest names in the industry
  • Assisting the head office-based inbound sales team, by bringing in new business and developing existing customer base, through site and office visits
  • Contributing to the contract administration process by keeping accurate records
  • Helping to facilitate sales enquiries predominantly by answering the phone, responding to emails and attending customer sites
  • Cold calling when required
  • Researching existing & prospect client history
  • Evaluating customer needs
  • Liaising with, and serving as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters
  • Setting up meetings between client decision makers
  • Liaising with colleagues to ensure that jobs are carried out and completed accurately
  • Dealing with clients, queries and resolving disputes in a timely manner
  • Updating data on spreadsheets
  • Working with the company’s electronic system
  • Documenting significant events
  • Maintaining appropriate records

 

Role demands

The role may require working antisocial hours and on occasion being away from home for a few days.

 

Level of Knowledge & Experience

Sound sales experience

Relevant experience gained in any commercial area involving contact with customers

Experience of computerised systems desirable

MS Office experience essential

Strong understanding of the working in a field sales role

Experience of the construction industry an advantage but not essential

Clean driving licence
